BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Fermanagh Trust is a registered charity, established in 1995 to promote any charitable purpose, and to support initiatives which will lead to social and community development to improve the conditions of life for the people in County Fermanagh and immediate hinterland.

Since 1995 the Trust has supported hundreds of community based projects in Fermanagh. In order to continue this work, the Trust has established itself as a community foundation, building an endowment which will ensure the Trust can continue to support community and voluntary endeavours via grant awards.

Fermanagh House, a social enterprise is owned by local grant-making charity, The Fermanagh Trust, and income from the facilities helps us reach even more local groups and charities with grant making.

Fermanagh House provides outstanding facilities at extremely competitive prices. The building is a resource for the entire community and is utilised by many groups and organisations. Fermanagh House is set in the heart of the Broadmeadow overlooking Lough Erne and Enniskillen Castle.

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic Fermanagh Trust wish to continue to provide a local response to local need. We are re-deploying our staff and resources to help those feeling overwhelmed, anxious or lonely connect with others in their community. We have established ‘Connect Fermanagh’ (028 66 320 230) to reach out to individuals in our community in need of a listening ear.

We hope to prevent loneliness for those feeling isolated and reduce the negative impact of social and physical distancing on their emotional wellbeing and mental health. We aim to continually monitor, review and adapt this service according to the level of need and responding swiftly to the emerging trends in the needs presenting.

We will have calls made and received by a team of friendly Staff and Volunteers from across Fermanagh.
